(The current owner demonstates the tone)
When my friend Maro Buenostro has wood in the back of his pick up, I always like to have a look. Even though it's just a stack of lumber intended to to trim out someone's den. This particular stack last year was a pile of 1 x 6's intended for exactly that, but I noticed a nicely quartered piece in the pile, and it appeared to be  somewhat flamed as well. The wood was one of the many from Brazil that don't have a known or memorable name in "American", but seemed like some kind of Mahogany except for the higher weight and lack of open pores. So nice guy that he is, Maro left the 1 x 6 as a gift and it went into my stash. . . but not for long as I am always curious to see what kind of guitar lurks inside such a find.

This guitar is one of the several I make each year just 'cuz, and it sounds and plays as well as anything I make. The sound is hard to fault, having a tone on the Rosewood side of Mahogany, though not quite like either; very successful.

The thing about my spec guitars is that you can get it this week, unlike the one you might order which currently won't get to you for a couple of years.  This is essentially a long scale (25.4") Martinesque "0" with my headstock and neck shape, 1 3/4"+ nut and 2 1/4" bridgepin spacing. The top is Carpathian Spruce, the binding is Snakewood and it features highly flamed and perectly quartered maple purfling. I include a fitted Calton flightcase with most guitars purchased directly from me, and there is one with this guitar.
